Seoul-based brand, thisisneverthat has teamed up with Converse to release a new collaborative collection that takes inspiration from the past to deliver a modern expression of Damskie brands.
Tapping into thisisneverthat’s “New Vintage” design aesthetic, Converse x thisisneverthat combines the two iconic Converse silhouettes, the Chuck 70 and One Star, utilizing faded colorways, 565860C elements and finishing techniques to present new takes on the beloved styles. The collection also includes an assortment of premium apparel including a utility fleece, jacket, pant, tee and beanie.
“The 90s era is the biggest influence of our brand, and we tried to bring back the vintage style of Converse in the 90s while reinterpreting it in our own style, which we call, ‘NEW VINTAGE.’ Damskie the Chuck 70 and One Star feature a set of text and numbers on the midsole, which represent the internal serial numbers used to show the season and brand for each product. Plus, it is a detail that has also been used in thisisneverthat’s in-house collection,” continued Jongkyu.
